Canolfan Ceridwen Centre is a purpose-built venue for workshops, retreats, courses, holidays and weddings set in the green and abundant Teifi Valley of West Wales. Find Us There’s a magical feeling to this part of Wales. When we first stumbled across this unspoilt corner, we fell in love first with Ceridwen, (the large house sleeping up to 19, named after a character in Celtic mythology), and then with this landscape. We’re spoilt for views and spoilt for sunsets here, located on an organic farm of about 40 acres, made up of grazing pasture, young woodland, orchards and a market garden. This is rural without being remote, a countryside haven for escape, relaxation and a chance to unwind. Open all year round, we welcome all sorts of groups. We host retreats, courses and workshops including yoga and creative writing (see events listing in ‘What’s On’). Other guests choose Ceridwen to host their special celebrations – we’re licensed for wedding ceremonies at Welsh Green Weddings and welcome all sorts of family festivities. Some visitors come on holiday and use the farm as base to explore the area; others come away with friends to relax, eat, drink and take it easy. Partly why the Ceridwen Centre makes a great venue for people getting together is its flexibility with accommodation. In combination with the dedicated group spaces – the Old Dairy and giant tipis, we can host practically any sort of event. We can accommodate over 50 on-site, including self-catering and B&B rooms as well as yurts and camping. Accommodation may be booked singly or in combination for larger groups, retreats, reunions and celebrations. The range of accommodation and spaces includes:
- Ceridwen, on the site of the old smithy and stables sleeping up to 19 (VIDEO TOUR OF CERIDWEN)
- The Byre, the contemporary calving shed conversion sleeping up to 6-7
- The Old Dairy, a renovated original farm building – up to 76 for wedding ceremony or 50 dining
- Yurts three 16ft in the orchard garden, each sleeping a couple with space for 1 or 2 small children

- B&B in the farmhouse with two double bedrooms
- Double Decker Bus– newly renovated for spring 2016- overlooking the valley sleeping 4-6
- The Gypsy Cwtch Romany Wagon, a beautifully restored romantic hideaway for two plus 1 small child
Bookings can be self-catered, part or full-board depending on your requirements. In the school holidays, bookings for Ceridwen and the Byre are preferably for whole weeks starting on Fridays but ask for last-minute availability for shorter periods, as any length of stay from 2 nights upwards is possible. Workshop leaders and group organisers can find more information in ‘Retreats‘ and should contact us direct for an individual quote. Guests looking to come on holiday to West Wales won’t be disappointed – often called the quieter Cornwall, we’re only twelve miles from the Cardigan Bay coastline but there are plenty of inland treasures in the Teifi Valley too. Leave your heels and city suits behind; bring torches; look up at the stars; start to unwind and accept our different pace of life. See our ‘Visit’ page for lots of ideas on what to whilst you’re here. The vegetarian catering is the bit that full-board guests really look forward to and the testimonials prove it. Our recipe for success is simple – we get good ingredients and put in a lot of love.
Self-catering guests can also enjoy our homemade hospitality and order pre-prepared meals to pop in the oven or buy fresh veg, preserves, homemade bread and cakes. Our green ethos is key and we’ve a range of environmental features all over the farm including solar water heating, biomass boiler for heating and solar electricity and, coming soon, our eco wood heated hot tub for 7. We are happy to share our experiences of “becoming greener” so please ask us if it interests you. This is a family-run business. We live here. Whatever your length or type of booking, you will receive friendly support in preparation for and during your stay. We’re not grand or posh but we do feel that the magic blend of this place and our experience and commitment will help to make your stay special! If you would like to be pampered with beauty and/or holistic treatments while you’re with us, we can arrange for experienced local therapists to visit. Ask for details before you come so that we can pre-book your treat.
If you or any children in your group are interested in Art and/or Craft workshops while you’re with us, (we have a resident Art teacher) or if you are interested in Mountain biking we have our own on site bike park (west wales trails) – again please contact us to arrange in advance. We now have a Bar on site serving local micro brewery beers, local ciders and spirits and organic wines, open when we have events but all off sales can be bought at the shop. Our new shop sells travel essentials, welsh honey, veg from the polytunnel, local cheeses, our organic free range eggs and some local crafts. The shop is open during office hours and OS maps, torches, walk books, tourist maps and literature and rechargeable batteries can all be borrowed from here. The price list of what we sell at the shop is here. You can view our terms and conditions for self catering bookings here!
