Our local village, of Drefelin, has got together, this year to hold a Festive window week, from 7th to 14th Dec.
The aim is to decorate a window (with festive theme). It can be any size window, from a fanlight to a large bay window. Max spend £20 on the decoration and ideally, using as much recycled material as possible!
We’d like every participant to donate £5 to participate in the window decorating competition and all this money donated will go to a local charity. We’ve not yet chosen the charity and welcome your suggestions for this.
If you would like to take part, then your window or windows ((£5 donation per window) needs to be completed by Saturday 7th December. Sometime during the week or 7th to 14th, a judge from outside Drefelin will be given the list of addresses with decorated windows and walk round and view all the entries.
On Saturday 14th or Sunday 15th (weather dependent probably), there will be a walk from the Drefach-Felindre end of Drefelin to Penybanc and YrHendy. We haven’t decided on a time for this yet, but we expect it to be late afternoon/early evening. Everyone will be invited to attend a prizegiving at the end of the walk where seasonal refreshments will be offered!
This is completely voluntary and there are two ideas behind it – firstly to create another Drefelin event to bring the community together and secondly to raise some cash for a deserving cause!
