Or just come down to the main house- Penybanc- with the blue/wooden conservatory!

STAYING ON OUR SITE

As I’m sure you are already aware, our farm is located in rural West Wales. We have no street lighting here and beautifully dark skies (on a clear night you can see the Milky Way!). So, remember, please be careful when walking around at night.

Because we are in a farming community we cannot permit Chinese lanterns or fireworks due to the risk to farm animals and wildlife.

Please respect the countryside code- close gates, keep your dogs under control, poop scoop responsibly, and remember that sound travels in the countryside, our farming neighbors have to get up early.

Wifi is available around the site. It does fluctuate. Look for ‘Ceridwen- WGW’. The password is: Ceridwen

We also have good 4G access as there is a mast across the valley.

Wooden play equipment- The play equipment is for the use of children staying on the farm only and is to be used at the guests’ own risk. All children must be supervised by parents or carers.

No glass or china should be taken near or on the play equipment. Thank you

Dog owners should keep their dogs away from the play equipment and must be responsible for their dog waste. There are two poo bins in the Yard. Dogs should not be left unattended in accommodation or allowed to roam freely.

There are sheep grazing in fields next to our land. If your dog is a chaser of sheep- please keep them on a lead.

Ice packs: If you have been supplied with a cool box, we are happy to freeze ice packs for you. Ask at the office

Fire: If you need logs, kindling, newspaper/firelighters please ask. The wood burners inside the accommodation are for burning wood only. NOT HOUSE COAL. Coal must not be burned in any of our accommodations or on our firepits.

The kindling and wood provided are for the wood burner only. This wood is a valuable sustainable resource that we cut small enough and season ourselves specifically for the small wood burners.

If you want logs for a firepit or campfire- we can provide bigger logs for this. A basket load would cost £30

Fire Safety

Our two conventional accommodation spaces (Ceridwen house & The Byre) have Fire alarms that are wired in and battery-powered carbon monoxide detectors. The glamping spaces have both battery-powered Fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.

If in the rare event, there is a fire in the Venue spaces, and the fire alarm goes off. We’d ask you to leave the space calmly and head to the assembly point. The assembly point is on the opposite side of the Yard. Staff will be there to help.

RECYCLING

Blue bags: hard plastic, tins, cans, paper & card

Please wash all items before popping them in the blue bags

Black bags: general waste

There will be two compost bins, 1 for veg waste and the other for only meat.

Glass: fill up the glass crates. We have a glass bin in the car park if you could take your empties up there on departure that would be great.

A FEW EXTRA THINGS WE CAN OFFER

Outdoor Firepits & wood: if you want one of these, please just ask. We have a few onsite. We can supply bigger bits of wood for burning. We charge £40 per load.

Hot tub: This is positioned on its own secluded platform, just off the main yard. It is a woodfired Eco hot tub and takes 4.5 hours to warm up.

If you are interested, we’d need a prior warning/booking. We charge £70 for an evening hire, from 6 pm onwards ‘til 9 am the following morning! We will make sure it’s hot, ready for your arrival.

Or £120 for two consecutive days (from 6pm ‘til 9am- this way you could use it during the day too!). All wood is supplied for this. We’ll light it initially ready for your arrival- then you’ll need to keep it going.

Our reception: sells some local produce and drinks plus essentials like suncream. Opening times are on the door!!

Regular food nights: Reservations are required, through our website ( click on the ‘Book a Table’ button on the first page of the website: https://ceridwencentre.co.uk/ ) or come and speak to us at reception.

Indoor & outdoor seating is available. Takeaway options are available sometimes- always worth an ask!! (this tends to be offered at the start or end of the night!)

The Bike Pump Track: The Pump Track is managed by Matt and Lottie Broome – my brother and sister-in-law– who live in the cottage joined onto the main farmhouse.

Pre-booking is required. Helmets must be worn at all times. There is a small payment for the use of the track and also a safety form to sign.

Contact: Lottie can be reached at lottie@westwalestrails.co.uk   Matt’s contact is- 07805882017

Emergency medical numbers

‘999’

This is the emergency number for police, ambulance, fire brigade, coastguard, cliff rescue, mountain rescue, cave rescue, etc. Note the important word ‘EMERGENCY’. This number should be used only when urgent attendance by the emergency services is required – for example, someone is seriously ill or injured, or a crime is in progress.

‘112’

This operates exactly the same as 999 and directs you to exactly the same emergency call centre. The important thing about 112 is that it will work on a mobile phone anywhere in the world. So on your next foreign holiday, you don’t need to make a note of the emergency number for the country you visit; you just need 112. Incidentally, an EU requirement is that emergency call centres must provide a translation service.

In the UK, 112 also works on landline phones, but I can’t say whether that is the case in other countries.

Calls are free and 112 can also be dialed from a locked mobile phone.

The Leyland Titan 1964 Double Decker Bus

The Double Decker bus was converted in the Winter of 2015 -16. She was operating as a play bus in Kidwelly, South Carmarthenshire when we bought her. Most of the play equipment was past its best and there was none of the original seating left in the bus. She was built for use in Southend along with 2 other sister buses at the same time. She is slightly lower than a normal double-decker and we have repainted her in the original livery colours of the Southend Fleet.

We still haven’t converted or upgraded the driver’s cab so we would ask you please to look but don’t climb in.

Water

The water is from our farm borehole, is non-chlorinated, and great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council each year.

The Hob and the Oven

The hob with 4 burners and the oven are both gas operated (from bottled gas). To light the burners, turn on the knob for the burner you want and press down the knob for 5 seconds.

Heating

There is a gas combi boiler under the stairs that operates the central heating and the hot water for the sink and the showers outside. The controls for the boiler are located on the left as you come into the lounge above the refrigerator.

Controls are set on manual, with the thermostat for you to manipulate as you wish. You can press the boost button which overrides everything – which in turn will activate the boiler.

The bus is well insulated with sheep’s wool and will heat up quickly despite the large area of single-glazed windows.

Should you have any problem with the heating or hot water contact us at reception. Sometimes it’s just that the gas bottle has run out. This is simple to sort. Just let us know and we’ll swap out the old for new!

Toilets and showers

The ‘Bus Stop’ at the rear of the bus has a toilet with a hand basin (with hot and cold water) on the left, a shower in the centre, and another shower with a view on the right.

Please consider our poor green, septic tank. It can’t digest baby or facial wipes, nappy liners, cotton buds, sanitary towels, etc. Please don’t flush these down the loos! Thank you!

Lighting and Electricity

All of the lights are 12v and are operated from a transformer by the original ‘push once’ buttons. Push once for on and push once again for off (you will hear the 12 v relays click when the switch is operated).

The living area light switch is on the back of the kitchen unit towards the front of the bus on the right which is also where all the fuses are located (in the top cupboard).

There is no electric kettle because the supply is only 16Amps.

The Rear Bedroom

This is accessed by the traditional stairs at the back of the bus. The light switch button is on the right at waist height just as you enter the room. The wardrobe is on the left of the mirror and the small WC is found on the right. The water to the ‘eco’ sink above the wash basin is cold only for hand washing and the water is automatically reused for flushing the toilet.

The Front Bedroom

This is accessed by the loft ladder that is pulled down using the handle and then the second stair tread located on the floor.  The layout inside the bedroom is a mirror image of the bedroom at the rear.

The light switch for the front bedroom is on the left as you walk up the loft ladder. There is a small flap that closes over the loft entrance at night for privacy that can easily be opened from the bedroom but the loft stair itself should not be closed when there are people upstairs for safety reasons.

There is a curtain that can be drawn just in front of the loft ladder that gives privacy for the two single sofa beds downstairs.

Sofa beds in the lounge area

Behind the driver’s cab, there are two couch seats on either side of the dining table. These are firm single mattresses and can be used as beds if required.

The bedding will either be in a bag on the couch, or under the stairs.

BBQ

There is a barbeque on the decking, and utensils for this are inside the bus.

We would ask that you keep the BBQ away from the side of the bus so as not to damage the paintwork.

Caban Bach – The Eco Pod

Caban Bach was lovingly made in the winter of 2013 using as many recycled materials as possible. It is based on a second-hand caravan base with reclaimed floorboards.  The door is second-hand, the widows and a lot of the internal fittings are recycled from another caravan and the internal and external boarding were sourced locally, all the insulation is sheep’s wool.

Below we have given a little information below to help you understand how it all works. If you have any questions or problems please come and see us at reception.

The Cooker

The grill and the two burners require lighting by hand with matches or a lighter. If you want to use the oven check the valve in the cupboard, under the oven, is on. When you light the oven hold in the red button for 5 seconds as you light it.

Water

Our water is from our farm borehole. It’s non-chlorinated and great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council yearly.

You’ll find a bottle of our drinking water on the side.

The water tap at the sink has a small brown cap on the end that can be twisted open or closed. It should be left in the open position. The water flow is operated by a small electric foot switch that operates an electric pump. If the water level runs low then you can head outside- round to the right, unattached the water butt, put the cap on, attach the arms and wheel the butt up to the toilets at the top of the field to refill in the outdoor sink. Once popped back you’ll need to re-prime the pump. To re-prime the pump- you pump on the foot switch (located in the cupboard) until the water comes out of the sink.

Or you can let us know and we can come and refill the water store and re-prime the pump for you 😊

Making up the bed and converting it back to a table

The double bed is in fact the two bench seats with the table bridging the gap between the two benches.

To make the bed a double bed lift up the cushions on both sides, then lower the table by undoing the bolt on the right-hand side and pulling the table towards you. (MAKE SURE THAT YOU DON’T CATCH YOUR FINGERS BETWEEN THE BED FRAME AND THE TABLE AS IT COMES DOWN QUITE FAST).

The table rests on the gap between the bed frames.  Find the ply sheet that is under one of the seat cushions and slip this into the recesses on the edges of the benches nearest the door.  Put the two main seat cushions in the centre of the flatbed area and put the two-bed cushions at the edges.

The bedding can be stored in the recesses under the bench as you come into the pod and this bench hinges up and can be kept in place with a wooden toggle.

To put the table up reverse the process but make sure you pull the table up and towards you fairly quickly as the elastic should then help to bring up the back of the table for you. Make sure you push up the bolt as this stops the table from accidentally lowering itself.

Bins and recycling

There is a bin for landfill waste, a container for recycling, and a green bin for compostable waste (no meat please).  Recycling in Carmarthenshire is all the usual suspects but not glass. Leave the glass outside and we will collect it and take it to the glass recycling bank, in our car park.

Heating

A small electric oil-filled radiator is provided.

Toilets and showers

You have a compost loo behind the Pod. Please remember to pour a scoop of the sawdust after you’ve done your business! If you run out of this- come and find us and we’ll refill for you. There are toilets and showers at the top of the field in the gap in the hedge by the large tree. These are compost & conventional ones. Showers can be found there too.

The HopShack

The Hopshack is an upcycled static caravan clad in local timber & recycled corrugated tin. There is second-hand insulation in all walls, floor & ceiling. This with our wood burner in the sitting room, and electric heaters, means it can get pretty toasty!

From the spacious veranda, your views are of our organic veggie gardens and a secluded, tree-lined valley.

The Cooker

The hob requires lighting by hand with matches.

If you want to use the oven push the red button and light the oven at the back- bottom right- with a match.

Water

The water is from our farm borehole, is non-chlorinated, and is great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council each year.

Heating

There is a wood burner in the sitting room, with a basket of wood. We supply more wood- for free- if you are staying between the months of October and April. So, if you require more, please say and we will show you where it is kept. If you want more wood outside of these dates, we’ll charge you £20 per load.

You will find electric heaters in the bedrooms and in the sitting room. There is a heated towel rail in the ensuite.

Toilets and showers

There is an instantaneous gas boiler for hot water, which is in the tall cupboard in the sitting room. The pilot light should always be on, but on the off chance you need to re-light it- explanation- turn the top nob around to the ignition symbol (a flame) and hold in while relighting the pilot light with a match (you’ll need to hold this in for about 30 seconds!).

If the pilot light won’t light- you have probably run out of gas. Please contact us and we’ll install a new gas bottle for you.

Please consider our poor green, septic tank. It can’t digest baby or facial wipes, nappy liners, cotton buds, sanitary towels, etc. Please don’t flush these down the loos! Thank you!

BBQ

There is a barbeque on the veranda, and utensils can be found inside.

We hope you have a relaxing stay!

Derwen Yurt

Derwen (Oak in Welsh) is in its own secluded clearing, on a timber deck overlooking the valley to the west. There is no electricity in this Yurt. You will find battery-powered lights within ( the battery pack for the fairy lights is located by the door) for ambient mood lighting and the bedside lights are also battery-powered.

Parking

When unloading and packing you are welcome to drive down to the Yurt. Stop in front of the wooden posts. Please then reverse and drive back down the hill- through the Yard- turn right onto the lane and take the first right to park in the car park. You can then walk across the Tipi platform (where the triangular Tipi skeleton is) back to the Yurt.
Water
Our water is from our farm borehole. It’s non-chlorinated and great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council yearly.
You can drink the water that comes out of the tap in the outdoor kitchen (in fact, all water from taps onsite is drinkable!)

Kitchen

Your outdoor, under-shelter, kitchen has a gas burner, sink and all the gubbins needed to cook with and eat off.
When using the hob, Check the gas bottle is on (righty tighty- lefty loosey!) Turn the knobs on the gas burner to the left and light using a match. Please remember to turn off after use.

You have a cool box for your fridge. You’ll find some ice packs in there. You can swap these for more during your stay.. just come down to the office and ask a member of staff.

You have a small Kadai with larger logs, kindling, and fire lighters for your BBQ/ Firepit. It is sitting on the decking by your table.

The Heating

There is a wood burner for warmth with a basket of wood. The logs and kindling for this are cut to the appropriate size for the small yet powerful burners we have. Please don’t use them outside in the Fire pit. We have bigger logs to be burnt there. If you require firelighters/ kindling of logs- just let us know.
Below are 8 helpful pointers on how to light a fire…

1/ Place a log or two at the bottom of the Fire
2/ On top of this build a stack of 6-8 softwood kindling sticks
3/ Then place a natural fire lighter inside
4/ Fully open the air control as this will maximize the supply of oxygen in the wood burner needed to get the fire going.
5/ Light the fire lighter and close the door but leave it slightly a jar. This helps to heat the chimney flue and burn hot and clean. Smoke may come out of the fire until the chimney has warmed up.
6/ Once the fire is burning well close the door and reduce the air intake
7/ Re-fuel little and often
8/ Every time a log is added open the air control again until the fire is burning well and then return the control to normal
Toilets and shower
You have a compost loo across the little bridge. Please remember to pour a scoop of the sawdust after you’ve done your business! If you run out of this- come and find us and we’ll refill for you.
Your outdoor warm shower is around the side of the kitchen.

Hot tub

This is a biodiesel-run hot tub. It’s available to hop in and out of, throughout your stay. The tub is scrubbed between stays and has fresh water just for you!
This will be filled and heated ready for your arrival.. just remove the lid and jump in.
The max temperature is 42 degrees C.
If by any chance the water is cold.. it means the hot tub has either been switched off (in the metal shed behind or the biodiesel has run out). Just let us know and we’ll sort it.
You can turn this off- in the metal shed- by switching off the two switches on the left.
Please don’t take the water out of the tub.
Bins and recycling
There is a bin for landfill waste (with a black bag) and a bin (with a blue bag) for recycling. You’ll find a bin for compostable waste and green bags for this (no meat in here please). Pop meat in a green bag, in the black sack.

Recycling in Carmarthenshire is all the usual suspects but not glass. Leave the glass in a crate please or take it to the glass recycling bank, in our carpark.

If you have any questions throughout your time here- just come down to the yard/ office and have a chat with us.

We hope you have a relaxing stay!

Daisy Yurt

Daisy is located in the corner of the Oxide Daisy camping field which is beautiful in spring and summer

You have electricity in this yurt for lighting and charging phones. Please don’t use hair dryers or any other high-wattage appliances as we have a minimal amount of power here.

Parking

You can drive to this Yurt. Come out of our main yard- turn right onto the lane- take the second right into the camping field (the first right is our Car park). When in the camping field you’ll see the Yurt in the far corner of the field. Follow the path and you are welcome to park just next to the Yurt.

Water

Our water is from our farm borehole. It’s non-chlorinated and great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council yearly.

You can drink the water that comes out of the outdoor sink tap, in front of the curved roofed toilet/shower block in the middle at the bottom of the field (in fact, all water from taps onsite is drinkable!).

Kitchen

Your outdoor kitchen has a gas burner hob and all the gubbins needed to cook with and eat off.

When using the hob, Check the gas bottle is on (righty tighty- lefty loosey!) Turn the knobs on the gas burner to the left and light using a match. Please remember to turn it off after use.

You have a cool box for your fridge. You’ll find some ice packs in there. You can swap these for more during your stay.. just come down to the office and ask a member of staff.

You have a BBQ outside for your use. If you need charcoal for this.. the garage at the top of the road is the closest place to purchase it (turn right onto the lane- when coming out of the camping field- drive up to the top/main road. At the T junction turn left and the garage is on your left a little way down.

The Heating

Orchard Yurts

Our three orchard yurts are named Afallon, Wild Garlic & Damson. They are all situated amongst native fruit trees (apple, pear, and damson). All these yurts have sheep wool insulation to keep them warmer on colder nights and cooler in the heat of the summer.

Afallon is positioned at the top of the young orchard field. You share the space with our donkeys (Honey & Treacle). Don’t worry they are behind an electric fence but do like to be chatted to.

Wild Garlic (at the top) and Damson (below) are in the older orchard on the other side of the fence from Afallon.

There is no electricity in these yurts. You will find battery-powered lights within ( the battery pack for the fairy lights is located by the door)- for ambient mood lighting and there’s a powerful camping light on the side for your use.

Parking

To unload or pack up, you can park your car in the layby, by Wild garlic gate or Damson’s smaller gate. For Afallon, you can drive into the hook-up campervan area and walk up to the Yurt from there.

Then come out on the lane- drive up the hill- take the first right to park in the carpark for your stay. The lane and laybys must be left free for cars to pass.

Kitchen

The orchard yurts all share a kitchen. This is the garden shed that is in the middle of the three yurts. You have a cooker, hob, fridge space, a sink with cold water, and all the gubbins needed to cook with and eat off.

You’ll find an outside, sheltered eating BBQ area just behind this kitchen.

There is also a first aid box in there.

If you need charcoal for this.. the garage at the top of the road is the closest place to purchase it (drive up the lane, to the top/main road). At the T junction – top of the lane- turn left and the garage is on your left a little way down.

Water

Our water is from our farm borehole. It’s non-chlorinated and great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council yearly.

Toilets and shower

Each yurt has its own compost loo. Please remember to pour a scoop of the sawdust after you’ve done your business! If you run out of this- come and find us and we’ll refill for you.

Your closest conventional toilets and warm showers are situated behind the old Dairy.. next to the main house. you will be shown this on arrival, but can also find it on the site map too.

Extra details

We have left a pack that can be found in the Yurt kitchen, with a site map, local maps, emergency details, and tourist information. If you have any further questions.. come and see us. We live in the main farmhouse (Penybanc) with the blue wooden conservatory.

Bins and recycling

Bins are found in the yurt kitchen. A bin for landfill waste (with a black bag) and a bin (with a blue bag) for recycling. You’ll find a bin for compostable waste and green bags for this (no meat in here please). Pop meat in a small green bag, and then in the black sack provided.

Recycling in Carmarthenshire is all the usual suspects but not glass. Leave the glass in the crate please or take it to the glass recycling bank, in our carpark.

If you have any questions throughout your time here- just come down to the yard/ office and have a chat with us.

We hope you have a relaxing stay!

Bryn Helyg Yurt

Bryn Helyg (Willow Yurt in Welsh) is the biggest of our bentwood Middle eastern inspired yurts.

You have electricity in this yurt for lighting and charging phones. Please don’t use any hair dryers or any other high-wattage appliances as we have a minimal amount of power for our glamping spaces.

Parking

When unloading and packing you are welcome to drive up to the Yurt. Please then drive back down the hill- through the Yard- turn right onto the lane and take the first right to park in the car park. You can then walk across the Tipi platform (where the triangular Tipi skeleton is) back to the Yurt.

The path outside your Yurt must be kept clear for access around the farm.

Water

Our water is from our farm borehole. It’s non-chlorinated and great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council yearly.

You can drink the water that comes out of the tap (in fact, all water from taps onsite is drinkable!).

Kitchen

Your outdoor, under-shelter kitchen has a gas burner, fridge, sink and all the gubbins needed to cook with and eat off.

When using the hob, Check the gas bottle is on (righty tighty- lefty loosey!) Turn the knobs on the gas burner to the left and light using a match. Please remember to turn it off after use.

You have a BBQ outside for your use. If you need charcoal for this.. the garage at the top of the road is the closest place to purchase it (turn right onto the lane- drive up to the top/main road. At the T junction turn left and the garage is on your left a little way down).

The Heating

There is a wood burner for warmth with a basket of wood. The logs and kindling for this are cut to the appropriate size for the small yet powerful burners we have.

If you require firelighters/ kindling of logs- just let us know.

Below are 8 helpful pointers on how to light a fire…

1/ Place a log or two at the bottom of the Fire
2/ On top of this build a stack of 6-8 softwood kindling sticks
3/ Then place a natural fire lighter under the kindling

Your outdoor bath/shower is at the end of the kitchen decking. It can take a little time for the bath to fill up but it is lovely to sit in.

There are more showers/toilets at the top of the field in the curved roofed shepherd’s hut, through the gap in the hedge.

The Geodesic Dome

This is positioned on a secluded part of the Farm with views of a hidden valley to the west. No one lives in the valley- so the birdsong can get pretty loud at dusk and dawn.

There is no electricity in the dome. You’ll find battery-powered bedside lights & twinkly ones to illuminate the dome. The cabin has solar power. This is minimal but turns the lights on and you have access to one socket (for charging a phone). Anything else could drain the battery.

Parking

When unloading and packing you are welcome to park your car just behind the bus stop. We then have a wheelbarrow that you can transport your belongings in – on the walk to the Dome.

Then we ask for you to park in the main car park. Drive through the Yard- turn right onto the lane and take the first right to park in the car park. You can then walk across the Tipi platform (where the triangular Tipi skeleton is) down the path that gets you to the Hopshack/Bus and follow the private path back to the dome.

Water

Our water is from our farm borehole. It’s non-chlorinated and great to drink. It is tested and approved by Carmarthenshire County Council yearly.

You can drink the water that comes out of the tap in the kitchen (in fact, all water from taps onsite is drinkable!)

Cabin

Just behind the dome, is a cabin. Within this space, you’ll find a compost loo toilet/shower plus a mini kitchen, with a gas hob, sink, sofa, and all the gubbins needed to cook and eat off.

When using the compost loo- please remember to pour a scoop of the sawdust after you’ve done your business! If you run out of this- come and find us and we’ll refill for you.

The Cabin’s electricity comes from Solar. There is an inverter (switched on) inside. This supplies power for the lights and there is one socket for charging a phone. Please do not use items that will drain the power (ie: hair dryers, straighteners, etc. ). You can check the levels (of power) on the little box above the inverter. Green lights are a good sign!

You have a cool box for your fridge. You’ll find some ice packs in there. You can swap these for more during your stay.. just come down to the office and ask a member of staff.

The Heating

There is a wood burner for warmth, in your dome, with a basket of wood. The logs and kindling for this are cut to the appropriate size for the small yet powerful burners we have. Please don’t use them outside in the Fire pit. We have bigger logs to be burnt there. If you require firelighters/ kindling of logs- just let us know.

Ceridwen House

Ceridwen was designed and built, on the site of the old smithy and stables using traditional materials to honor and reflect the peace and solace of the surroundings.

The Heating

Central heating is provided by the biomass boiler and hot water by the boiler or solar panels

We have two different controllers and two thermostats to heat different parts of the house. Details below.

Controllers

One can be found in the main part of Ceridwen- on the walk to the kitchen- in the laundry/shower room. Open the tall cupboard at the end and you’ll find the controller on the left-hand side.

For your arrival- this is normally always on, ready for your arrival. To check – the lights should be on, on both sides of the control panel (for the water and radiators). You can turn them on by pressing the square switches.

In this cupboard- you’ll also find two switches on the right-hand side of the tank.. these are booster switches. Turn them on if you need them only but please remember to turn them off when you don’t need them.

The second controller can be found downstairs- in the annex- in the large 4 bedroom (Gwilli) with the only ensuite in the house. This is always left on. You can control the temperature by pressing the ‘- & +’ buttons. This will warm up the temperature in the annex only (Gwilli, Amman, Cothi, Towy, and the toilets and shower here)

Both these are set to 20 degrees ready for your arrival. You can adjust the Temperature on these too.

Thermostats

Look at the floor plan below to see which thermostats work for which other areas in the house.

1/Thermostat found at top of back stairs, by the kitchen- controls the temperature downstairs kitchen, hall, upstairs bathroom, Taf, Aeron & Gwaun.

2/Thermostat found downstairs by the mirror collection (in dining area)- controls the temperature in the sitting room, upstairs lounge, and Teifi.

Bins and recycling

There is a bin for landfill waste (with a black bag) and a bin (with a blue bag) for recycling. You’ll find a red bin for compostable waste- the green bags for this are found under the sink (no meat in here please).

Recycling in Carmarthenshire is all the usual suspects but not glass. Leave the glass outside, in a crate and we will collect it (or you can!) and take it to the glass recycling bank, in our car park.

Ceridwen’s home entertainment devices

You’ll find a TV upstairs in the lounge. Turn it on with the remote control. It’s an internet-enabled TV. There is also a sound bar connected to this TV.

There’s one TV downstairs too, in the dining room. It’s a pretty old one! It has a Digi box to connect to the TV and it has a standard DVD player- which you’ll need to change the source on the TV to get it to work.

The Stereo in the dining area is a midi Hi-Fi unit. It’s got a multi-change CD player in it.
