STAYING ON OUR SITE
As I’m sure you are already aware, our farm is located in rural West Wales. We have no street lighting here and beautifully dark skies (on a clear night you can see the Milky Way!). So, remember, please be careful when walking around at night.
Because we are in a farming community we cannot permit Chinese lanterns or fireworks due to the risk to farm animals and wildlife.
Please respect the countryside code- close gates, keep your dogs under control, poop scoop responsibly and remember that sound travels in the countryside, our farming neighbours have to get up early.
Wifi is available around the site. It does fluctuate. Look for ‘Ceridwen- WGW’. The password is: Ceridwen
We also have good 4G access as there is a mast across the valley.
Wooden play equipment- The play equipment is for the use of children staying on the farm only and is to be used at the guests’ own risk. All children must be supervised by parents or carers.
No glass or china should be taken near or on the play equipment. Thank you
Dog owners should keep their dogs away from the play equipment and must be responsible for their dog waste. There are poo bins in the Yard. Dogs should not be left unattended in accommodation or allowed to roam freely.
There are sheep grazing in fields next to our land. If your dog is a chaser of sheep- please keep them on a lead.
Ice-packs: If you have been supplied with a cool box, we are happy to freeze ice-packs for you. Ask at the office
Fire: If you need logs, kindling, newspaper/firelighters please ask. The woodburners inside accommodation are for burning wood only. NOT HOUSE COAL. Coal must not be burned in any of our accommodation or on our firepits.
The kindling and wood provided is for the wood burner only. This wood is a valuable sustainable resource that we cut small enough and season ourselves specifically for the small wood burners.
If you want logs for a firepit or campfire- we can provide bigger logs for this. A basket load would cost £30
Fire Safety
Our two conventional accommodation spaces (Ceridwen house & The Byre) have Fire alarms that are wired in and battery powered carbon monoxide detectors. The glamping spaces have both battery powered Fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors.
If on the rare event there is a fire in the Venue spaces, and the fire alarm goes off. We’d ask you to leave the space calmly and head to the assembly point. The assembly point is at the opposite side of the Yard. Staff will be there to help.
RECYCLING
Blue bags: hard plastic, tins, cans, paper & card
Please wash all items before popping them in the blue bags
Black bags: general waste
There will be two compost bins, 1 for veg waste and the other for only meat.
Glass: fill up the glass crates. We have a glass bin in the carpark- if you could take your empties up there on departure that would be great.
A FEW EXTRA THINGS WE CAN OFFER
Outdoor Fire pits & wood: if you want one of these, please just ask. We have a few onsite. We can supply bigger bits of wood for burning. We charge £40 per load.
Hot tub: This is positioned on its own secluded platform, just off the main yard. It is a woodfired Eco hot tub and takes 4.5 hours to warm up. it seats up to 6ppl.
If you are interested, we’d need prior warning/booking. We charge £80 for an evening hire, from 6pm onwards ‘til 9am the following morning! We will make sure it’s hot, ready for your arrival.
Or £130 for two consecutive days (from 6pm ‘til 9am- this way you could use it during the day too!). All wood is supplied for this. We’ll light it initially ready for your arrival- then you’ll need to keep it going.
Our reception: sells some local produce and drinks plus essentials like suncream. Opening times are on the door!!
Regular food nights: Reservations required, through our website ( check out our Events on the website)
Indoor & outdoor seating available. Take away options available sometimes- always worth an ask!! (this tends to be offered at the start or end of the night!)
The Bike Pump Track: The Pump Track is managed by Matt and Lottie Broome – my brother and sister-in-law– who live in the cottage joined onto the main farmhouse.
Pre booking is required. Helmets must be worn at all times. There is a small payment for the use of the track and also a safety form to sign.
